CLAIM EXAMPLES

Your client, a restaurant manager, fractures her leg while rock climbing during her time off. She is placed in a cast and is unable to work for several weeks. Her Individual Accident & Sickness policy covers her for loss of income until she is fit enough to return to work.

While at work, your client suddenly suffers a stroke and goes into a coma. He recovers but is permanently disabled and no longer able to work. As he was the sole income earner in his family, a claim made on his Individual Accident & Sickness policy provided a lump sum payment to his beneficiaries.

Your client, an independent tradesman, is diagnosed with a mental illness that has significantly affected his work and home life. He requires constant medical attention and finds himself hospitalised multiple times within a month. His inability to work means he cannot earn an income. If he had applied for an Individual Accident & Sickness policy, he would have been entitled to a benefit that would cover up to 85% of his usual income while being treated for his illness.
